What We Believe...
The following statement is not comprehensive, but highlights a progressive understanding of Biblical themes God has called us to embrace:
We believe that God is good-- ALL THE TIME! We believe that all good comes from God and that God alone is worthy of glory. (Matthew 19:26; James 1:17; 3 John 1:11)
We believe that God is full of mercy, grace, love and forgiveness and that God calls us as followers to major in being merciful, gracious, loving and forgiving to others. (Psalms 145:8-9; Matthew 5:7 & 6:14)
We believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word which contains a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled authority for our lives. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12-14; Matthew 28:18)
We believe in the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit - 3 in 1), that God is sovereign and all-powerful, and that Jesus is fully God and fully man. (Matthew 28:18-20)
We believe in the virgin birth and perfect life, death and resurrection of Jesus, that He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father from where He will come to judge the living and the dead. (Matthew 1:20; 1 Peter 3:18-22; 2 Corinthians 5:10)
We believe that salvation is a gift of God by grace received by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9) and not by the works of the law, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death (old covenant law). (Romans 8:2)
We believe in the ministry and gifts of the Holy Spirit, in baptism by immersion and the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and in one Spirit-unified church, Christ's bride, whom He has saved and will receive at His second coming into life everlasting. (1 Corinthians 14:1-5, 15:51-55; John 17:21; 2 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
We believe we are called to follow Jesus and live out all that the church of the book of Acts was empowered to be, and to move beyond this to the greater things Jesus empowers His bride to be in the last days. (John 14:12)
We believe in the power of His broken body and its anointing passed on to us as often as we partake of the communion bread in faith. (1 Corinthians 11:23-24; John 6:53-56)
We believe in the sacrifice of His blood and in the full cup of His blessings poured out on us in all circumstances as we drink His communion cup in faith. (1 Corinthians 10:16-17; John 6:53-56)
We embrace His commission and His commandments (Jesus' New Covenant commands) and humbly commit ourselves to prayer, praise, worship, witness, service, unity and proclamation through the empowerment of His Holy Spirit. (Matthew 22:36-40; Matthew 28:18-20)
